Tenders Called For Pipeline

HUNTER Water has called for tenders for the construction of a pipeline from Dora Creek to Balmoral for the transfer of water to the Central Coast.
The works include building 10 kilometres of pipeline from Hadleigh Road, Balmoral, to Stingaree Point Drive, Dora Creek.It is part of a $27-million pipeline that will extend 25 kilometres from Rathmines through Morisset to Wyong. It includes completion of a water mains system design, connection to the Hunter Water supply system, geotechnical investigations and approvals.The region needs to purchase water from Hunter Water because its dam storage levels are at 23.4 per cent. Since June last year, Hunter Water has transferred water to the Central Coast, with 1.8 billion litres delivered this year. The pipeline will boost the average daily transfer from 6 million to 20 million litres.Works are expected to begin this year and be completed in a year.
