A MAN was sentenced in Toronto Court yesterday to nine months' weekend jail for assaulting a woman at Balmoral.

Keiran John Wicks, 38, Foxtel subcontractor, now of Turnbull Street, Fennell Bay, had pleaded guilty before magistrate Bryan Wilson to maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on Donna Wrigley-Wicks on November 29 last year.

Her medical treatment after being punched had included the insertion of four plates into her cheekbone, the court heard.
